Congratulations to Khenpo Jampa Yonten & Khenpo Ngawang Zangpo Print E-mail

It is with great joy and pleasure to receive news from Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong, Himachal Pradesh that two learned teachers, Gen Jampa Yonten and Gen Ngawang Zangpo, have been conferred the title of "Khenpo", on Lhabab Duechen (the auspicious anniversary of Lord Buddha's returning from Trayastrima heaven after spending 3 months teaching his mother, Queen Mayadevi, and the beings in the gods' realm. This was held during a convocation ceremony of the monastic institute (Shedra) of Khampagar Monastery.

The event started with the Kyabje Dorzong Rinpoche's short teaching on the Drukpa Lineage and the importance of studying Buddhadharma, followed by a brief discourse by Kalon Ven. Tsering Phuntsok about how to practice Buddhism in today's world and the noble characteristics of a monk.

Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche Shedrub Nyima, Kyabje Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche Chokyi Sengye, Kyabje Dorzong Rinpoche, Kyabje Drubwang Tsoknyi Rinpoche and many other revered masters of the Drukpa Lineage were present at this congregation of 500 monks and lay devotees.
